Modern Camping on the Oregon Coast

We had been wanting to go camping all Summer but our work schedules and other weekend activities always seemed to get in the way. So happy we were finally able to take a step back and get some fresh air at Bay Point Landing— a modern camping resort outfitted with stunning private cabins, cozy airstreams, a fitness center, indoor pool, and a whole lot of nature to explore.

We started our journey on Friday evening and made the 3.5 hour drive from Portland to Coos Bay, Oregon. From this point onward we decided to go screen free for the weekend (aside from our camera screen of course) to really take a time out from all the stresses of social media and to focus on spending quality time with each other. It was truly an enriching experience and we felt so present, as opposed to the usual stresses of having to document and post everything in real time for the gram.

We spent our weekend sleeping in, having lots of meals outdoors around the campfire, and taking dips in the pool. Our weather was so prime (think slightly overcast and 65) and was truly an ode to Summer’s end. A few things that we loved about Bay Point Landing that will certainly lead us to returning…

They have locally roasted coffee in-cabin for each stay in glass and wood containers instead of individually packaged coffee packets.

The natural landscaping on site is designed to save water, and extensive wetland restoration was a part of the building and design process. The whole resort has such stunning and modern design, and we just love that it’s beautiful and eco-conscious as well, which brings us to our next point.

The resort used locally sourced materials for their building process, which really shows in how connected the whole space feels to nature.

It’s all in the little things you guys. So happy to have stumbled upon this luxury and modern camping gem in Oregon — we can’t wait to return. Below is a little video we made from our weekend. Enjoy!
