The Chosen Review / A Cozy Night In

Share this post with your friends and family!

This blog post is sponsored by Angel Studios, but all opinions of The Chosen are my own!

Tis the season for cozy nights spent indoors, cuddled up on the couch, and gathered around the TV for festive movies and shows alike. This is not complete without the essentials like cozy pillows and blankets, decorations around the room, and of course, homemade popcorn. Since we’ve finally finished decking the halls, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to let you join us for a cozy night in!

First Step — Grab The Essentials

Before we jump into our “chosen” entertainment of the evening, grabbing the essentials is a must! Lots of pillows that will probably just end up on the floor, warm blankets to snuggle up with, and popcorn all around. Add a festive drink if you’re feeling fancy— I went with a winter spiced herbal tea. Then of course, two Goldendoodles to help eat said popcorn. *Goldendoodles are optional. Any fluffy friend will do. If your environment is feeling cozy, then you’re all set!

Next —What To Watch

Now, you can totally take the basic way out and watch a classic Christmas movie for the 76th time (we’ve all been there), or you can switch it up and try something new, like The Chosen series! It was actually around this time last year that I discovered The Chosen, and I have been hooked ever since! If you haven’t yet, simply download the Angel Studios app on your smart TV or phone, and that’s about it! It’s completely free, and doesn’t require any signing up or personal information to watch, which is awesome! Keeps things moving right along! Now, if you are new to The Chosen, let me introduce you!

My Review of The Chosen TV Series

The Chosen is truly one of a kind, in the best way. It’s the first ever multi-season series about the life of Jesus! Pretty cool if I do say so myself. There are two seasons so far which share scenes from The Gospels. This third season is premiering on December 11th, 2022 here! What I love most about The Chosen is that it helps to visualize stories and events from the Bible in a whole new way that I have never experienced before. It’s truly so well done. It gives you that “ooo I’ve read this part in the book” feeling when you’re watching actual stories from the Bible played out in front of you.

It allows you to feel a personal connection with, empathy for, and understanding of people whom these Bible stories were written about.

On a spiritual level, one of my favorite parts about The Chosen is that it really allows me to feel a connection with the people whom these Bible stories were written about. Specifically Jesus’ disciples and those who were close with Him. Whenever I’m reading scripture and I read the words of say John or Peter, I find myself able to connect with their words that much more. I attribute this to the fact that I now have a visualization and a personality to attach to their words. That has truly made all the difference!

When and Where Can I Watch The Chosen Season Three?

Great question, thanks for asking! First, if you haven’t watched Seasons 1 and 2, I would highly encourage you to do so. They are so insightful, impactful, and truly captivating. Looking for a good excuse to lay around on the couch all day? Binge watching the first two seasons is totally acceptable in my book, haha. You can watch those here. But if you’re like me and you’ve been eagerly awaiting the start of Season 3, the wait is almost over! The Chosen Season 3 starts streaming Dec 11th. Find out where and when you can watch on the Angel Studios app here.

i’ve seen the first two episodes of The chosen season three and they are good.

A few weeks back, Zach and I were able to see a sneak peek at season three in our local theater. You guys are in for a real treat! There are so many iconic moments, my favorites being whenever we get to see Jesus speak. However, I will absolutely be rewatching them for the season three premier on the 11th, so be sure to let me know if you’re watching too!

Now that you’ve listened to me ramble about one of my favorite TV shows, I hope I’ve convinced you to give it a watch! In anticipation for The Chosen season three, we will be cozying up tonight rewatching some of our favorite episodes from the first two seasons. Some stories just never get old, even when they’re straight from the oldest book in the world! Plus, I can’t think of anything more perfect to watch at Christmastime than stories about the life of Jesus Himself. The reason for the season, am I right? Thanks so much for taking the time to read. I am so excited for what’s ahead for this series and Season Three.
